OF YELLOW WAS THE OUTER SKY
An ode to the fragility of life and the Syrian revolution that began in March 2011.
Set within an artist’s studio, the film gathers objects collected across Syrian cities—from glass hand vases salvaged from Aleppo to handmade sculptures, including a chandelier of light and a ping pong table where the net is replaced by the bloodied form of a woman. The studio functions as a sanctuary for meditating on a lost homeland: through a rigorous study of light, form, memory, and time, the film binds the language of modern art to social reality, framing cinema as a vital record of human endurance.
